STEPN GO launches the new collection of sneaker NFT

STEPN GO, the famous app of social-lifestyle, has partnered with Casio for the “VIRTUAL G-SHOCK” project, to launch the new collection of NFT sneakers.

STEPN GO and the launch of the new collection of NFT sneakers through a lottery

STEPN GO e CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD, have joined forces to launch a new collection of NFT sneakers, as part of the “Virtual G-Shock” project.

The new collection offers a limited number of 800 NFT Sneakers, available through a lottery, which will be held from August 26 to 29 on the MOOAR marketplace.

Specifically, the exclusive sneakers in Non-Fungible Token format feature a design inspired by the G-SQUAD sports line of G-SHOCK, suitable for both sports and virtual environments.

On a technical level, the NFT STEPN GO x G-SHOCK Genesis were created on the Polygon blockchain and have a price of 10,000 (GMT) each.

As anticipated, the distribution will take place through the lottery. In practice, a random draw will occur every 24 hours during the 4-day sales period, and the winners will receive their NFTs on the MOOAR marketplace. There is a limit to the number of NFTs that each wallet can win.

At the moment, this with Casio and the Virtual G-SHOCK project, seems to be among the first partnerships of STEPN GO. This means that the social-lifestyle app is laying the foundations for a mass onboarding of Web3, through innovative social features.

The initiative “VIRTUAL G-SHOCK”, started in September 2023, aims to expand Casio’s user base by introducing unique G-SHOCK experiences in virtual spaces such as NFTs and the Metaverse.

In this regard, Yawn Rong, co-founder of FSL (creator of the STEPN GO app), commented on the collaboration:

“We are always eager to bring more traditional partnerships and IP into STEPN GO, so that we can expose a wider audience to our Web3 lifestyle application. This collaboration with Casio is crucial for the entire FSL for the grand vision of mass adoption of Web3.”

The Move-to-Earn in the social-lifestyle app

TheSTEPN GO app falls into the “Move-to-Earn” category. This is because users can earn by walking, jogging, and running with digital NFT sneakers.

This app comes after the success of the original version of STEPN and has conquered over 5.6 million registered users, who own over 1 million NFT sneakers.

Its peculiarities include a key social element, called the “Haus System.” It is a lending system that allows users to share their NFT Sneaker with friends and family who are new to the app.

Sharing the rewards and simplifying the process of understanding cryptocurrencies.

Another unique feature of STEPN GO is also the “Interactive Map”. This allows users to see the avatars of other players and communicate with them, even adding them as friends within the platform.

STEPN GO has started also a collaboration with Adidas to launch the Genesis Sneakers NFT collection.
