Founder of Security Firm SlowMist Warns Against Copy-and-Pasting Sensitive Crypto Information

The founder of the blockchain security firm SlowMist is urging crypto traders to be wary of copy-and-pasting sensitive information.

The founder, who goes by the pseudonym Evilcos, tells his 81,300 followers on the social media platform X that whenever he copies something to his clipboard on his iPhone, he will reflexively go to his shortcut widget afterward and clear it.

With iPhone, the probability of your clipboard contents being ‘stolen’ is much lower. Any other app that wants to read your clipboard contents will pop up a reminder unless you allow pasting…

Developing small safety habits will make you feel much more at ease.

If you need to copy sensitive information on your computer, then I can only wish you the best. As long as this computer is connected to the Internet, there are countless possibilities for your sensitive information to be ‘stolen’…

If you play crypto, and your computer is not equipped with a hardware wallet or iPhone wallet for external verification, it is only a matter of time before your money is stolen.”

Evilcos does caution that there is “no absolute safety” but encourages digital asset traders to take small steps to improve their security situations.
